Green Drinks or smoothies are a complete food as opposed to juices which are great for the health of the body but the fibre gets discarded. Green smoothies are blended, therefore the greens are still fiberous. Consuming fiber is important for the process of elimination. I've always thought that all of the discarded pulp from yummy fresh juices was such a waste and was happy to make up a carrot cake or raw treat with it.
A really good friend introduced me to green smoothies and not a day has gone by since, that I have not had at least one green smoothie a day. People of all ages enjoy the taste of green smoothies.We have had trades people over and have given them green smoothies. They loved them!
My family loves them too. With a 80:20 ratio of veggies to fruit, the green flavors dominate yet at the same time the fruit balances out the veggies. adding a hint of fruitiness to the smoothie. People who eat a standard diet enjoy the taste of green smoothies. They are usually pleasantly surprised that some thing so green could taste so GOOD.
